Arsenal are expected to be Sporting star Viktor Gyökeres’ next destination if claims from Portugal are to be believed.

At the weekend, Correio da Manhã reported the Gunners have made a formal offer of €75m the striker.

On Tuesday, A Bola stated Arsenal have offered him an annual salary of £7m after tax.

Wednesday’s edition of A Bola backs that up and adds that the Premier League club will offer him four or five-year contract.

The 26-year-old is on top of Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta’s striker target list. This was reported in the UK, where it was also stated Chelsea haven’t yet given up on him.

Sporting have an agreement in place with the player and his agent, Hasan Çetinkaya, so he can leave for €70-75m in the summer window. There’s now hope at Sporting that a fight between Chelsea and Arsenal could push that amount higher.

The newspaper believes this is unlikely to happen because the Sweden international has his heart set on joining Arsenal. The project under Mikel Arteta has convinced him to make a switch to the Emirates.

They add the north London club have already ‘grabbed Viktor Gyökeres emotionally and even financially’.
