Brendan Rodgers didn’t utilise Luis Palma regularly at Celtic in the first half of this season.

The Honduras international was limited to 267 minutes from 12 games and wasn’t pleased with his situation.

In the winter market, Celtic let him join Olympiacos on loan until the end of this season. Last month, claims from Honduras stated the Greek club have a ‘strong desire’ to buy the winger in the summer.

Fútbol Centroamérica claims Brendan Rodgers’ ‘position and attitude toward the Honduran has not changed at all’.

The manager believes the left-wing position is well covered by Daizen Maed and winter signing Jota. Therefore, the Scottish champions have decided to cash in from his sale, to recover close to €4.1m they invested to buy Palma in August 2023.

Olympiacos have a €4m purchase option. If they were to not exercise it, the report states Celtic are willing to lower the fixed fee, provided the overall fee is close to €4m including bonuses.

Sources close to Palma have told the outlet that he felt ‘mistreated’ by Celtic in the first half of this season. The 25-year-old doesn’t want to return to Celtic Park ‘under any circumstances’.

Palma and Celtic have decided to part ways in the summer window, and whether he will continue at Olympiacos or join another club needs to be clarified.
