Chelsea would not be opposed to defender Benoit Badiashile departing in the January transfer window if there is an offer for him.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who look at the French players currently at Chelsea and report that Badiashile appears to be on his way out.
They report that while others such as Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana and Axel Disasi have been assured they are part of the plans, the same is not the case for Badiashile.
The horizon is ‘much foggier’ for the 23-year-old, who is now considered the last option in Chelsea’s defensive hierarchy.
He has not been able to establish himself since joining the Blues in January 2023 and has only managed 37 minutes in the Premier League this season.
He has a contract until June 2030 but ‘could quickly move towards new horizons’ in the coming months as Chelsea’s management would not be against him departing.
Foot Mercato do not state what sort of deal they’d be looking for when it comes to Badiashile, who cost €38m to sign from Monaco.
For now, it seems the door to a exit is just being opened as he’s not a part of Chelsea’s plans moving forwards.
