Two days ago, Liverpool Montevideo’s Fabricio Díaz admitted he’s aware he’s the subject of interest from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Claims from Uruguay had also stated the 20-year-old’s agent is working intensively to take his client to the Premier League.
This is backed up by El Observador, who provide additional updates on Brighton’s pursuit of the defensive midfielder. They say he will continue his career at The Amex.
It’s claimed the negotiation between Liverpool Montevideo president José Luis Palma, the Seagulls and the player’s agent, Pablo Boselli, for the Uruguay U20 international’s transfer will close in the ‘next few hours’.
The deal will be closed for €8.5m and the South American club will receive 20% of the fee from Díaz’s future sale. The report adds the midfielder will sign a five-year deal to become Moisés Caicedo’s successor at Brighton.
El Observador’s claim is also echoed by TuttoMercatoWeb. They add Robert De Zerbi’s side are ‘very close’ to signing the Liverpool Montevideo player for a deal worth around €8.5m.
TMW explain that ‘now only white smoke seems to be missing’ for Díaz to become a new Brighton player.
