Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed Inter Milan’s interest in Davide Frattesi. FcInterNews now provide more updates on this case, including the competition they will face from Brighton & Hove Albion and others to sign the Sassuolo star in the summer.

The Seagulls are likely to see Alexis Mac Allister leave for around €70m and the 23-year-old could replace him in the summer.

Mac Allister’s exit could leave Brighton with enough resources to meet Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali’s €40m demand for the midfielder.

It’s stated that no Serie A side will be able to meet Carnevali’s request. Roberto De Zerbi’s side are the ‘only club that could really formulate an offer’ to sign Frattesi.

At the same time, a move to Brighton doesn’t seem to please the Italy international, even though they have qualified for Europe.

Frattesi is keen to continue in Italy and join a top club like Juve or Inter. The latter would hardly invest €40m on him, even if they raise the necessary funds. The Nerazzurri may consider signing him if they could include some of their players as part of the deal.

The Italian clubs’ refusal to meet Sassuolo’s demands puts Brighton in an advantageous position. If they can convince Frattesi for the transfer, they could reunite him with De Zerbi at The Amex in the summer.

Meanwhile, Carnevali has now hinted the midfielder could end up in the Premier League.

“We won’t sell more than two of our jewels in the summer, we have a healthy balance sheet and we don’t need to sell,” he said, as quoted by Sport Mediaset.

“Frattesi? The best opportunity comes from abroad, from the Premier League. I advise him to learn English well. Milan, Juve and Napoli? All together we will try to understand if there really will be an important request.”
