Oscar Schwartau has now had two seasons at Norwich City and could be on his way out of the club.
In the 2025/26 campaign, the Dane played 34 times in the Championship, contributing to six goals. He mainly played on the left but also filled in on the right and in central areas.
This is similar to how things were in the 2024/25 season, when the youngster played mainly on the right and slotted into other positions well.
These traits are now attracting attention from Italy. Lazio are growing keen on signing the Norwich City player, who can take the natural next step.
Offer on the way
Today’s Corriere della Sera report the Rome club want to sign a host of young players for their project under Rino Gattuso.
Schwartau has attracted special attention mainly due to his versatile skillset.
It is believed the Dane will allow Gattuso to use several formations. As a result, the talent is seen as an ‘all rounder’ who will come in as a very handy signing in the summer.
Lazio’s plan is to offer Norwich City an initial loan with an option to buy. This would become an obligation to buy, if certain conditions are met. But for now, Lazio are waiting for sales before stepping forward.
The club will have a key transfer meeting with new sporting director Angelo Peruzzi soon and this could define a move for Schwartau.
Player may not object to move
During his time at Brondby, Schwartau played in Europe and may be tempted by doing so again.
Lazio aren’t playing in Europe but are completely reforming their squad under Gattuso with the plan to do so. Major changes are likely to take place, as the club look to return to Europe after two seasons away.
Schwartau should see that as a major opportunity.
As a result, Norwich City may not have too much of an option. The 20-year-old is represented by BTAM, who also handle the affairs of Lazio duo Gustav Isaksen and Oliver Provstgaard. This can be key and the entourage can help negotiate a big move to Rome.
