There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Besiktas are showing interest in Celtic defender Greg Taylor after also being linked with Rangers’ Rıdvan Yılmaz in the past week.
Taylor has been a regular under Brendan Rodgers this season, but his contract situation has brought him to the attention of the Istanbul side.
Besiktas also have Rangers left back Yılmaz on their agenda, although a deal for the Turkish international has become complicated after he forced his way back ito Philippe Clement’s core plans. The Rangers player came through the youth system at Besiktas and reports last week said they were in talks to sign the 23-year-old.
Takvim today report on the latest left back target for Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and they state Besiktas are ready to make an offer for the Celtic player. Due to his contract situation with the Scottish Premiership champions, it’s claimed the Super Lig giants could come in with a low offer for the 27-year-old.
According to the Turkish media outlet, Celtic could accept such an offer given they may lose him on a free transfer in six months. Also, with the possibility of Kieran Tierney returning to them in the summer, they will have a readymade replacement.
With Taylor’s contract expiring in the summer it seems a more likely deal than targeting Ranger’s Yılmaz.
Taylor has made 28 appearances for Celtic this season, scoring one goal.
