At the weekend, Fotomaç reported Aston Villa’s Diego Carlos has accepted a €4m per year offer from Fenerbahçe.
On Monday, we covered claims from Turkey that the defender is set to carry out medical tests in Istanbul after José Mourinho’s side agreed a deal with the Villans.
Later that day, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reported the Aston Villa player was scheduled to arrive in Turkey in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The 31-year-old didn’t take that flight to Istanbul and Yağız Sabuncuoğlu again took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest.
The plane that was scheduled to bring the centre-back from England to Turkey didn’t take off. According to the journalist, the Brazilian and his agent were supposed to fly from Luton Airport and this was cancelled.
There’s no mention why the scheduled trip to Istanbul was cancelled.
Sabuncuoğlu shared another update on X stating that the Yellow Canaries have scheduled another flight for the Brazilian. This is scheduled to arrive in Turkey at 18:30, local time.
