Nottingham Forest can offer Juventus’ Douglas Luiz an escape route in the summer window.
Tuttosport state the Reds tried to sign the midfielder in January and it wasn’t entertained by Juve.
Nottingham Forest are ‘preparing to return to charge’ for the 26-year-old after the winter market failure.
The Brazil international left Aston Villa for the Serie A side last summer and has struggled with injuries and form. To put it in context, he made three league starts and three more in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, muscle injuries have forced him to spend more time on the sidelines since last October and is currently recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered in February. Luiz would be ready to leave in the summer if he’s not key part of Thiago Motta’s plans.
His difficult situation at the Turin club hasn’t stopped him from attracting interest from the Premier League. Nottingham Forest could be an option as they have ‘continued to weave’ possible negotiations with Luiz’s agent Kia Joorabchian in recent weeks.
The Premier League club are expected to appoint Edu Gaspar as their new director. He has close ties with Joorabchian and even tried to sign Luiz when he was at Arsenal.
Juve are inclined to sell him and need €40m to avoid a loss, and the report states this figure ‘doesn’t scare’ Nottingham Forest.
Tuttosport aren’t clear about the formula that Nuno Espírito Santo’s side could consider and insist a loan with a conditional obligation can would satisfy all parties.
