Nottingham Forest signed goalkeeper Carlos Miguel from Corinthians in July 2024, and he made only three appearances, all in cup competitions.

Nuno Espírito Santo has continued to rely upon Matz Sels, who has been the standout player for the Reds this season. This has forced Miguel to settle for a backup role, and it has led to reports linking him with a move away from Nottingham Forest.

Two months ago, RTI Esporte reported the 26-year-old doesn’t rule out a return to Brazil in the summer window. They also named Cruzeiro as an interested party.

Recent claims have stated his former club, Corinthians, and Palmeiras, are said to be in the mix. Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, writing in his column for R7 Esporte, looks at these links and provides his own update.

Nicola contacted the stopper’s representatives for an update, and claims they rule out a move back to Brazil in the upcoming window.

Miguel’s contract is until 2028 and the journalist claims it’s not guaranteed he will still be at Nottingham Forest next season, especially since Sels will continue as the No.1.

There isn’t anything concrete to suggest Miguel will leave the Premier League club.
