A lot has been made the past few weeks about Orel Mangala’s Nottingham Forest future after he was surprisingly dropped from the plans at City Ground following the appointment of Nuno Espírito Santo.
The Belgium international had been a mainstay under Steve Cooper, but the Portuguese manager decide to change things up a bit, with the 25-year-old one of the big sacrifices.
This has led to talk of a move to Napoli, with Area Napoli’s Gianluca Vitale bringing the latest to X, formerly Twitter, regarding the talks between Nottingham Forest and their Italian counterparts.
He starts off by pointing out how intermediaries are calling Evángelos Marinákis is a ‘complicated person’ to deal with, and with Aurelio De Laurentiis on the other side added to the mix, we are likely witnessing the equivalent of two stubborn rams butting heads trying to prove who is the strongest.
Time will tell who will win that battle, but Vitale explains it’s currently more Mangala who wants to leave Nottingham Forest than the club wanting to get rid of him.
There, he feels that players who ‘produce less’ are earning ‘two or three times’ more than him, meaning he is clearly feeling undervalued.
Right now, Napoli are said to have alternatives, but ‘time is running out’, with just a week left in the transfer window, and talks between clubs clearly struggling to move forward because of their respective owners.
