Earlier this week, DAZN reported Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the picture to sign Samuel Lino. They also said the La Liga side want to get rid of him for around €20-25m this summer.
Friday’s edition of Marca reiterates Nottingham Forest’s desire to sign the 25-year-old.
The Brazilian’s contract expires in 2027 but has no future with the Madrid club.
Los Rojiblancos signed Thiago Almada and the Argentine’s arrival resulted in ‘overbooking’ for non-EU slots. Therefore, Atlético sporting director Carlos Bucero is forced to find solutions for Lino, Conor Gallagher and Nahuel Molina.
Lino’s performances were mixed last season, but Atlético believe he could still be attractive to other clubs.
Nottingham Forest have expressed interest in the winger, who can also be used as a wing-back or a fullback. The newspaper claims Lino has still not made a decision on his future despite knowing he’s not part of Diego Simeone’s plans.
Although Nuno Espírito Santo’s side seem keen, the South American doesn’t want to rush a decision over whether to join them, sign for another club or stay at Atlético to try and convince Simeone.
It’s unlikely that Lino will stay considering Atlético want to offload him and need to make room in the non-EU slots.
