Ramón Sosa is close to leaving Nottingham Forest and almost has everything finalised with Brazilian side Palmeiras.

That’s according to Versus and journalist Christian Martin, who report that the Nottingham Forest winger is increasingly close to joining Palmeiras.

They have long wanted the 25-year-old and now have practically everything finalised to sign him this summer. Sosa is yet to sign any deal with them, though, and that is the most important aspect.

Martin, though, reports that Palmeiras will pay $14m for the Paraguayan international. They had already lined up a deal to get him out of Nottingham Forest before the start of the Club World Cup but that didn’t happen.

Verus report that negotiations between the two sides have progressed over the past 20 days and it’s now virtually a given that he will leave Europe and move to Brazil.

If that is the case, it appears Palmeiras have managed to convince Sosa to change his mind on a move to the club.

Previous reports over the last few months have indicated he was determined to stay in Europe, either with Nottingham Forest or another club, but now it appears that has changed, and he’ll be joining Palmeiras after all.
