Fiorentina have been open to selling Dodo and talks with Nottingham Forest are now underway.
This week, Sport Witness covered how La Viola are keen to sell the player. Oliver Glasner’s side hadn’t made a formal offer to sign the right-back, despite reports claiming a deal is close.
With Dodo’s contract running until 2027, Fiorentina were open to accepting late offers for the defender.
This has given encouragement to Nottingham Forest, who have now stepped forward for a deal.
Bid rejected but talks on
Gianluca Di Marzio reported late on Wednesday that the Midlands club have made an offer for the Brazilian. They put forward €7m for the signing but this bid was promptly rejected.

Despite the rejected offer, Nottingham Forest remain in talks, with both parties trying to iron out an agreement. This is especially because his exit will help everyone and Fiorentina won’t risk losing him for free next year.
Dodo has already packed his bags and is keen on a move to England. He is simply waiting for the two clubs to strike a deal, with reports previously covering how he has already reached an agreement over personal terms.
Our take: Forest should hold firm
Fiorentina will be under significant pressure to sell the 27-year-old. No Italian clubs have stepped forward for the player and new signing Joao Mario can easily slot into his position at right-back. Technically, Dodo has been replaced in Florence.
Nottingham Forest should take advantage of this and hold firm in their offer. Ideally, a player of Dodo’s experience and quality should be worth more but there is a rising chance of them getting a discount.
Glasner’s usage of wing-backs should suit him well. He thrives on charging up and down on the right and playing under the Austrian could be a good next step.
