Fiorentina could soon be hunting for a new striker and this could lead to discussing moves with Manchester United and Everton.
La Viola could soon part ways with Moise Kean, who has attracted major offers from Como. Despite the lakeside club putting forward a package worth €40m, the Florence club are awaiting an incoming before accepting the fee.
Sport Witness have covered how they see Everton’s Beto as an option. Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee is also being considered as a target.
Now, a clearer picture of Fiorentina’s approach is emerging.
Initial contacts made
FirenzeViola report that Fiorentina would’ve ideally wanted to sell Kean abroad. But since Como are offering good money, they are growing open to selling the striker to them and are looking for a replacement.
Fabio Paratici has already held initial discussions regarding a move for the Manchester United player. He expressed interest but it became clear that the deal will take financial effort.
Michael Carrick’s side want a package worth €30m to €35m to let the Dutchman depart. This is seen as a big obstacle, with the player demanding a wage of €3.5m per season plus bonuses. Besides, Fiorentina know about Juventus’ interest in Zirkzee and he is keen on joining them.
That is why Everton’s Beto is seen as the main alternative.
The ex-Udinese man will cost less, with the Toffees expected to ask between €25m and €30m to sell him. He earns €2.5m per season plus bonuses of €0.5m and this is seen as a much more favourable deal.
Fiorentina want to move quickly and it won’t be a surprise if progress is made soon.
Our take: Player willingness key
Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian has an excellent relationship with Juve, having helped them sign Douglas Luiz.
The Old Lady also offer European football to the player. Fiorentina don’t guarantee that and his doubts about the move would be justified.
For that reason, Beto would be a more suitable target. He has a good track record of doing well in Serie A. Now, he needs to be a regular to get his career back on track.
Fabio Grosso’s side will allow him that and he could even be the centre of the project.
