Tottenham Hotspur sacked Nuno Espírito Santo on Monday and have already announced Antonio Conte as the Portuguese coach’s successor.
Now that the former Chelsea manager’s arrival in the English capital is confirmed, the focus will shift to Spurs’ targets for January.
It won’t be a surprise if several Serie A players are linked, considering both Conte and Fabio Paratici have spent a lot of time in Italy.
Over at FcInterNews, they say Conte’s ‘first thought’ for Tottenham is Inter Milan’s Nicolò Barella.
It’s said the 52-year-old changed the midfielder’s career by bringing him to the San Siro and ‘making him grow’.
The 24-year-old’s feeling towards his mentor ‘remains unchanged’, but the duo will not meet each other at the north London club. That’s because joining Conte at his new club is ‘not even a temptation’ for Barella.
FcInterNews say Barella should sign a new contract with Inter until 2026, in the coming days. This should be sorted out by Thursday or ‘at the latest Friday’.
The new Tottenham manager has the Italy international in his thoughts, but the latter absolutely doesn’t want to join the Premier League side.
