Norwich City have seen a new attempt for Glen Kamara rejected by Rennes this morning, despite increasing their proposal.

That’s according to journalist Sébastien Denis. According to his information, Norwich’s increased bid has not been enough to tempt the French side into a sale.

The journalist reports that Norwich ‘made another attempt’ for Kamara this morning. This was an ‘increased offer’ from their previous bids. He makes no mention of the nature of the bid or how much Norwich increased it by.

Regardless, Rennes responded with the ‘same refusal’. They are seemingly uninterested in doing a deadline day deal for the midfielder.

That’s despite the 30-year-old barely featuring for them since returning in the summer transfer window. He had been on loan at Al-Shabab and has only made three appearances totalling 49 minutes this season since.

25 of those minutes did, however, come in the 4-0 loss to Monaco on January 31st. Before that, he had managed five minutes in total from November 22nd.

Those numbers presumably gave Norwich a belief that a deal could be done. There’s certainly no indication that the former Leeds midfielder is a firm part of the French side’s plans.

Instead, the Canaries have seen a new, improved offer rejected again this morning. Whether they come back in again, remains to be seen.
