Norwich City have entered the picture for Bologna winger Benjamin Dominguez as the Championship club look for cover following Ali Ahmed’s serious injury.
The Canaries are now being credited with interest in the Argentine by today’s printed edition of Corriere di Bologna, which reports Norwich have made a move in recent hours.
The Italian newspaper presents them as the latest club to join the race for the 22-year-old.
Dominguez has already attracted attention from South America this summer, with Boca Juniors and Vasco da Gama both linked. Now, Norwich’s arrival adds an English option. This comes at a time when Bologna are juggling several transfer decisions.

Benjamin Dominguez has emerged as a target while Norwich City deal with the loss of Ali Ahmed, whose injury has left them short of options out wide.
Corriere di Bologna says the Championship side have now stepped forward. However, it does not provide details of an offer or explain how advanced the interest is.
That means the situation still appears to be in its early stages. Even so, Norwich’s name entering the race is a fresh development, especially with competition already building from Argentina and Brazil.
The winger has previously been regarded as one of Bologna’s promising attacking options. But the Italian club are preparing for a busy end to the transfer window. Several departures could also reshape their plans.
Bologna waiting for market to open up
Benjamin Dominguez’s future is only one part of a much bigger picture at Bologna. According to the story, the club expect movement to accelerate once Jhon Lucumí’s future is resolved.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest are all mentioned as admirers of the centre-back. Meanwhile, Juventus remain the favourites after reportedly reaching an agreement with the defender over personal terms.
Bologna are still waiting for a suitable fee, however. Juventus’ €17m (£14.7m) proposal has fallen well short of the Serie A club’s €25m (£21.6m) asking price. Discussions are continuing over a deal that could include Juan Cabal.
Only once those bigger moves start falling into place may Bologna have a clearer picture of whether Dominguez is staying or leaving.
For Norwich City, the timing could work in their favour if Bologna decide they need to generate funds or reshape their squad before the window closes.
At the moment, though, the Canaries appear to have done little more than register their interest, with the race still wide open.
