On Thursday, we covered claims from Germany that West Ham United are in advanced talks to sign RB Leipzig’s André Silva in the winter market.

A day later, Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg stated West Ham are working on finalising a deal for the striker.

The Premier League side haven’t managed to agree a transfer for the 29-year-old or another striker so far.

Injuries to Michail Antonio and Niklas Füllkrug have seen West Ham look for a new No.9 in this window.

A fresh report from Bild says Silva is a candidate to leave Leipzig and is on the Hammers’ agenda.

There is ‘still no written offer’ from Graham Potter’s side for the Portuguese, and if they do place one, the report states it’ll be for a loan deal without a buying option.

As well as the former AC Milan man, the report states West Ham are also in contact with Ajax for Brian Brobbey. If they were to find an agreement with the Eredivisie side to buy the 22-year-old Dutchman, it can still benefit Leipzig.

Brobbey spent a year at the German club before returning to Ajax permanently in 2022 and Bild claim Leipzig will receive 10% of the fee from his sale.

Leipzig will end up benefiting if West Ham were to sign Silva or Brobbey.
