Tottenham will be free to hire Ramón Planes if they wish to bring him in as a replacement for Fabio Paratici, with Getafe not putting any obstacles in the way.
That’s according to COPE, who say Getafe president Ángel Torres ‘will not put any impediment’ in place should Planes want a move.
Paratici has been heavily linked with a departure from Tottenham in the near future, with many believing he will follow Antonio Conte out of the door.
That idea has been given extra credence by the fact that Paratici’s recent ban from the Italian Federation for alleged financial malpractice at Juventus, has been extended by FIFA and will now have worldwide effect.
Tuttosport explain that means the ban will also apply in England, where Paratici is currently the general manager at Tottenham.
According to their information, the president of the FIFA Disciplinary Commission, following a request by the Italian FA, decided to extend the measures to an international level.
That means Paratici ‘will therefore have to leave’ Tottenham as he is prohibited from any work for 30 months, like the other managers sanctioned, if an appeal is unsuccessful.
Planes has been linked with the job as a result of that, with some reports in England stating that he could make the move alongside Mauricio Pochettino, with whom he has a strong relationship.
If that were the case, Tottenham would face little resistance according to COPE, who say Planes’ numbers at current club Getafe are ‘numbered’.
He is set to leave the Spanish club at the end of the season and at the moment will do so ‘without any closed offer’ to move elsewhere.
There is talk of a super offer from Betis and a potential move to England, but they are yet to become anything concrete.
However, if they were then there would be no obstacles in their way, with Getafe president Ángel Torres not putting ‘any impediment’ in place for Planes to move elsewhere, perhaps even before the end of the season as planned.
