Zion Suzuki has grown at Parma, with Manchester United now interested.

The Japanese goalkeeper picked up a long-term injury earlier in the campaign. He’s managed to come back strong, as Suzuki played a key role in helping Parma avoid relegation from Serie A.

He was important last season too, featuring 37 times in the league.

This regular game time has come at the right time, when the keeper needed to take the next step in his development.

Sport Witness have covered West Ham’s interest in the past, and now he’s gaining wider attention.

World Cup can bring price hike

Gazzetta dello Sport hype the 23-year-old, noting that he is one of Parma’s most-wanted players. He has improved on the ball, helping Carlos Cuesta’s side quickly launch attacks from deep.

This has attracted interest from several clubs – including Manchester United. The Red Devils are ‘preparing to make a move’ in the summer, with Galatasaray also interested.

But the Turkish club aren’t the only threat. As Suzuki will play at the World Cup for Japan. This will lead to a potential increase in his valuation, with Parma set to take full advantage of that in the summer.

There is no certainty over whether he will leave or not. But it is clear Parma will not be holding on to him for too long in the future, with Napoli also interested.

Parma looking for PL transfer

Last summer, Parma sold Giovanni Leoni to Liverpool despite interest from Inter Milan. Even in Suzuki’s case, they would love nothing more than a sale to England.

Manchester United don’t need a starting goalkeeper but it is a sign of what Parma and the player himself wants. West Ham and Chelsea have been mentioned as suitors in the recent past, which has probably given hope to Parma of selling him to England.

Besides, his current deal runs out in 2029. Cuesta’s side wouldn’t want to sell him when his value is declining. That is why 2026 and 2027 would be the best chance of selling Suzuki to England.
