Manchester City landed one of Argentina’s most promising young players when signing Julian Alvarez from River Plate, and it seems they haven’t stopped there.
Recent reports from the South American country have been claiming that Pep Guardiola’s side are looking for more, as they’ve been watching a couple of players from Boca Juniors as well.
Now it turns out Manchester City could be attacking another club, because according to a story from ESPN, they’re interested in Velez Sarsfield midfielder Maximo Perrone.
Journalist Jorge Baravalle claims that the Premier League side have sent a team of scouts following the deal for Alvarez, and those have been monitoring the 18-year-old.
Since Velez Sarsfield have already received other approaches for the player, they recently renewed his contract, and now have him protected by a release clause worth US$10m.
It’s still not clear if Manchester City are already in talks for the move, but after taking River Plate’s biggest star away, it’s now clear that money won’t be a problem to sign another talented youngster.
