Manchester City have been celebrating that club star Sergio Aguero has signed a contract extension until 2021, but some people in Argentina are not so happy about that.

Outlet Diario Hoy brings a story today recalling the promises that the former Independiente forward has made in the past.

They point out that when Aguero was sold by the Argentine side to Atlético Madrid in 2006, he claimed that he would back at El Rojo ten years later, in 2016.

But Aguero was obviously too busy shining for Manchester City at the time, and that’s why he’s made another promise, this time saying he would return to Independiente to finish his career there.

So after a headline saying ‘when to Rojo?’, Diario Hoy claims that the Independiente fans will now have to wait at least three more years so they can see Aguero wearing the club’s shirt again.

Aguero joined Independiente at the age of nine, and made his professional debut for the club in 2003. The striker has made just over 50 appearances for the club before moving to Europe, and clearly has some unfinished business at El Rojo.
