Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne is increasingly close to signing for newly-crowned Italian champions Napoli.

The Italian press has stated the transfer can be finalised this week, when the Belgian’s lawyers will arrive in Naples to speak to the Partenopei.

Corriere dello Sport have now reported on Napoli’s plans involving the midfielder, who has already played his last game for Manchester City.

The newspaper insist De Bruyne will have ‘a wonderful new life’ in Naples and the comfort of his family is the club’s first priority. They will live in a villa that close to the sea and it is expected to satisfy all their demands of privacy and serenity.

The Belgium international’s plan now is to go on a holiday in Ibiza for some days and his Napoli medical would take place after June 2nd.

The economic distance between the two parties has narrowed to quite a small amount and Romelu Lukaku has played a key role in convincing De Bruyne about the move. The striker has been sending the Manchester City star some pictures and videos of how his life could be in the Southern Italian city.

That has now proved fruitful, as the 33-year-old has ignored all other offers and is fully focused on joining Napoli.
