Manchester City are ‘convinced’ about AC Milan youngster Francesco Camarda, who is currently shining for their U19s and impressed in the Youth League against Newcastle United this week.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the striker is already the ‘best of’ the Italian class of 2008, with few players in Europe currently enjoying the numbers he is at his age.
He is currently breaking ‘record after record’ and the recent brace against Newcastle United on his debut in the Youth League has only helped to further boost his growing reputation.
Camarda bagged a brace against the Magpies on his debut in the Youth League, becoming the youngster Italian to score in the European youth competition.
That’s creating an impact in the media, something Milan are trying to control as best they can, but the attention on him is growing.
The fact is that Camarda scores a lot and is attracting attention for it, particularly from top European clubs, with Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund those specifically named but two of many.
They are ‘convinced’ that the player has a great future ahead of him and could be tempted to make a move for his signature sooner rather than later.
Milan are not afraid of losing the youngster at this point and are already working on his first professional contract, with an appointment set for March 16th when he turns 16.
That date will see him sign a three-year contract, the maximum allowed, if things go to plan, and there is no suggestion they won’t as Camarda dreams of making his debut in Serie A wearing the Rossoneri shirt.
With big clubs like Manchester City lurking in the background, though, it remains to be seen if there is a sting in the tail. After this week, Newcastle United may also be paying attention, but they don’t benefit from the multi-club model which would enable his signing before he’s 18.
