Wolves hired Vitor Pereira as their new manager earlier this month and has take four points against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
While Pereira seems to be turning the club’s fortunes round, it seems the Portuguese wasn’t Wolves’ first choice appointment after Gary O’Neil was sacked.
La Gazzetta dello Sport today new AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao actually rejected Wolves’ approach for him.
The former Portugal international reportedly wanted to remain a free agent and was holding out for other offers.
The report states that Conceicao likes the Milan squad he’s inherited and there is an indication that perhaps, he was waiting for the move to the Rossoneri when he was approached by Wolves.
His contract with the Italian side was sorted out very quickly and documents between both the parties were exchanged last week. Wolves were rejected by the ex-Porto boss but it seems they were never i the running for him.
