Barcelona and Manchester United have already started ‘final negotiations’ over a deal for Sergiño Dest and ‘everything in on the right track’, according to Sport.
Claims from England have mentioned a €17m offer. The Catalan outlet states the two sides are evaluating various scenarios which include a loan deal with a purchase obligation or a direct sale.
The Spanish giants are asking for €20m from Manchester United for the right-back. His exit is a ‘priority’ for Barca because it would mean they can bring in two fullbacks demanded by Xavi Hernández.
Dest’s idea is to go to a top-level club and the option to join Manchester United suits him because of his relationship with Erik ten Hag. The pair worked together at Ajax.
Although the Red Devils are working on another option, Sport stress that all parties are clear they must close the Dest deal quickly so that this operation doesn’t collapse.
Mundo Deportivo explain Dest was reluctant to leave Barcelona this summer. They add he has received ‘seductive’ offers, like the one from Manchester United, and that can ‘change his mind’.
