For the past couples of weeks or so, there’s been multiple claims in the Italian media about Manchester United wanting to sign Napoli star Kim Min-jae in the summer.
The centre-back has a release clause that will be valid between July 1st to July 15th, which the Red Devils are reportedly aiming to use.
Monday’s Corriere dello Sport states the Serie A winners are well aware they would need a new centre-back, considering Manchester United could take the 26-year-old away from them.
Erik ten Hag’s side are capable of investing €58m to buy the South Korea international. The report adds they are working on carrying out this operation through exercising his clause.
Manchester United are fourth in the table and need a point from the remaining two games to secure a place in the Europe’s elite club competition.
Corriere say the ‘magical atmosphere at Old Trafford’ in the Champions League can entice Min-jae to join the Red Devils.
After repeated claims of Manchester United’s interest in Min-jae were mentioned earlier this month, these reports, at least in the Napless press, have gone quiet.
That’s because they are now focusing on the managerial situation at Napoli as Luciano Spalletti is expected to leave the Italian champions, which is obviously causing all kinds of drama.
