On Tuesday, Mundo Deportivo reported Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is a target for Liverpool this summer. The Spanish newspaper also stated he’s on the exit ramp as Xabi Alonso has left him out of his core plans.
Wednesday’s edition of AS covers Liverpool interest in the forward and the work done by the Reds so far to sign the 24-year-old.
Liverpool have already been busy this summer and are expected to further improve their defence and attack.
Rodrygo is the ‘chosen one’ for the wide positions as he doesn’t seem to have a future at Real Madrid. The newspaper states the Premier League winners ‘will do everything in their power’ to bring him to Anfield.
The Reds have appointed agent Pini Zahavi to be an intermediary in this operation. The report adds the Merseyside club will send Zahavi to Spain to start negotiations with Real Madrid in the ‘coming days or weeks’.
Xabi Alonso’s side value Rodrygo at €100m, which would be within Liverpool’s reach. AS add the English champions have to offload Luis Díaz before making further advances for the Real Madrid star.
Liverpool have a lot of work to do and have to be wary of competition from Arsenal and Bayern Munich to sign Rodrygo.
Real Madrid are looking at Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté, but AS says he won’t be involved as part of the potential operation for the Brazilian.
