Aged 21 and still having only one appearance under his belt for Liverpool, Adam Lewis was sent to Amiens SC in Ligue 2 to get some game time.
Blocked by Andy Robertson and eventually Kostas Tsimikas, the local defender will have been hoping his experience in France would have been the ideal platform to launch his career, but that doesn’t appear to have been the case.
Making just nine league appearances between August 22nd and November 7th, the young defender then disappeared from the face of the earth and hasn’t been picked by manager Oswald Tanchot since.
The reason for that, according to an article from Courrier Picard in December, is that he ‘failed to convince the staff’ at Amiens, and there was already talk of him ‘not wanting to return’ after the midseason break.

That has since been confirmed by RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi, who has reported on Tuesday that Lewis ‘will leave Amiens’ and ‘will return to England’.
The previous article from Courrier Picard alluded to the fact the Liverpool defender had already returned to his home country for the break, so it could simply be a case of him staying in Liverpool and getting his stuff sent back to avoid an unnecessary trip.
