Liverpool’s efforts to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili rumble on in the media closest to Valencia, although there doesn’t appear to be any concern that the deal will fail at this stage.
Los Ches are happy that Liverpool have agreed to let the goalkeeper continue with them, rather than gain experience in the Premier League ahead of replacing Alisson. The player himself is very content with that scenario too.
Indeed, after that crucial aspect was agreed, and a fee of more than €35m, everything has slowed down on the track with there no panic to get things done.
Sunday’s edition of SuperDeporte, Valencia’s local sport newspaper, states ‘the agreement still needs to tie up loose ends’. Those are the forms of payment, so when amount are scheduled to be deposited, and what Mamardashvili will earn whilst he remains at Valencia.
The goalkeeper will obviously want a pay rise after he signs a Liverpool contract, and the La Liga side probably don’t want to cover that, so it’s a case of everyone making little sacrifices to help the deal through.
For now, SuperDeporte are happy the Mestalla faithful will ‘be able to enjoy one of the world’s best goalkeepers’ for another season.
Regarding claims from elsewhere of Stefan Bajcetic potentially moving to Valencia, they don’t have anything from club sources on that prospect right now.
