Islam Slimani is out of favour at Leicester City.
The striker spent the 2019/20 season on loan at AS Monaco, and the French side have decided against exercising an option to make the striker’s loan deal permanent.
Last week, Foot Mercato reported the 32-year-old ‘wants to leave Leicester’ and Marseille are looking at the option of signing him.
According to France Football, Marseille and Lille are ‘interested’ in the Foxes owned player.
Luis Campos wants to bolster his side’s attacking division as Lille are expected to be without Loïc Rémy and Victor Osimhen for the upcoming season. Lille are after Gent’s Jonathan David and the report now adds they have also joined the chase for Slimani.
It’s claimed the player is a ‘subject of real interest’ from Marseille, but Monaco could also consider taking Slimani, following the departure of Roberto Moreno.
With a contract at the King Power until 2021, Leicester will have to find a solution for him this summer.
France Football add Brendan Rodgers’ side want to cut ties with the frontman and they are hoping for a fee of €8m to let go of Slimani this summer.
