On Monday evening, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Leeds United have made a loan offer for AS Roma’s Nicolò Zaniolo.
The forward’s relationship with the Serie A side is broken and the Whites want to take advantage of this to bring him to England.
Zaniolo will be out of the Giallorossi’s project if he were to continue at the club beyond the winter market. Leeds seem to be the ‘last hope’ for both parties.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who explain the Premier League side tested the ground to take the Italy international. They want him on loan with an option to buy, which will become an obligation if he makes a certain number of appearances this season.
José Mourinho’s side are not willing to offer discounts and want a guaranteed obligation to let the player go out on loan.
Over at Sportitalia, they state the Whites started contacts with Roma for the Italian when negotiating for Diego Llorente. It’s explained Zaniolo would like the English club as the destination.
Jesse Marsch’s side have proposed a loan deal with an option to buy, while Roma want a guaranteed purchase obligation. Their attempts have stalled but there could be ‘important news in the next few hours’, meaning there is a possibility for the deal to take shape.
Leeds’ offer to sign Zaniolo is also reported by Calciomercato.it, who then add ‘there will be new contacts’ between the English club and Roma for the attacker on Tuesday.
It’s further claimed Marsch’s side could ‘in fact change the offer’, but what proposal they could make it not mentioned in the report.
