Leeds United could be set to do battle with Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic for FC Luzern captain Ardon Jashari, with both clubs keen on the Switzerland international.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who say the 20-year-old is ‘dealing with various offers’ from around Europe.
They report that it is a certainty Luzern will lose their captain in the January transfer window, only where he ends up is ‘unclear’.
The midfielder currently has a host of offers on the table to leave and the hottest contenders are currently RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
They are not the only clubs interested, though, with Leeds, Napoli and Celtic also ‘courting the services’ of the central midfielder.
They are all ready to move for the 20-year-old, who was a part of Switzerland’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar but only managed one minute as a substitute in the 6-1 defeat to Portugal in last 16.
While not a regular for his country, he is very much so for Luzern in the Super League, where he made his debut as an 18-year-old in 2020 and has since racked up 34 appearances, scoring one and registering seven assists.
His current contract with the Swiss side runs until 2026 so they are in no rush to sell and will ‘demand’ between €6m and €7m for their man.
Whether that’s a figure Leeds or Celtic will be willing to pay isn’t mentioned but they are very much in the race, which appears to be heating up with the January transfer window right around the corner.
