With many clubs fighting for the signing of Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma, West Ham United seem to be the latest to have made a move for him.
That’s revealed today by journalist Ciro Venerato, who, speaking to 1 Station Radio(via Tutto Juve), has been speaking about the midfielder’s situation.
Besides talking about all sides who are battling for the 23-year-old, he came up with the information that the Hammers made an attempt to sign him today.
“An offer from West Ham was also made this morning, a loan with an obligation to buy linked to avoiding relegation set at €25m.”
Venerato makes it sound like Roma have put the offer to one side for now, even though that move is not ruled out by them entirely.
“If Roma accepted this formula, rejected for now, it would be the highest proposal.”
That last bit is up for debate, however, as there have been claims that Newcastle have offered a €40m package for the player.
Either way, just in this report from Venerato, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City are all mentioned as well.
With Italian sides also running for the signing, this is only great news for Roma, who are holding a big auction for a player who doesn’t want to stay there.
That’s why the coming week should be very intense in this race.
