Jens Cajuste had a reasonable loan spell at Ipswich Town in the 2024/25 season.

He returned to Napoli after the loan expired and the Italian press has since reported Besiktas have come close to signing the Swedish midfielder.

Now, Ipswich Town have returned to the race and this has been covered by Alfredo Pedulla.

The journalist claims that while Cajuste did seem to be heading to Besiktas, he has not reached a final agreement yet.

That is because Ipswich Town made a ‘concrete insertion’ for the 25-year-old in the last few hours. It remains to be seen if Kieran McKenna’s side go all the way in their move but it is clear that this caused a dilemma in Cajuste’s mind.

He is now taking some time to make a decision and as a result, Besiktas’ move is being held up. Ipswich Town’s loan deal for the midfielder had an obligation to buy of €11.5m inserted but it was only going to be triggered if they had survived in the Premier League.
