Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert has hinted he is looking to move on from the club in future and make a step up at some point.

Voetbal Primeur cover comments from the forward today, in which he admits he jumped quickly at the chance to join Bournemouth permanently last year.

Kluivert arrived on the south coast last year in a €10.8m deal from AS Roma as part of their efforts to strengthen for new manager Andoni Iraola.

It was his first permanent transfer in a number of years after several loan spells over the last few seasons.

He belonged to AS Roma after a €17.25m deal in July 2018 but has been bouncing around clubs in Europe from 2020, spending time at RB Leipzig, OGC Nice and Valencia.

Kluivert struggled to establish himself during all of those loan deals but has become a key player at Bournemouth, where he’s been able to establish himself and lay down roots.

He admits he jumped at the opportunity because of that fact, although he does believe he can make a step up from Bournemouth at some point in the future.

“I opted for this early in the transfer period (the move to Bournemouth) because I was always loaned out,” he said.

“Being loaned is never a nice feeling. You never have any rest. It’s a nice place. I think I can take a step further from here. I know it can be even better.”
