On Wednesday, we covered claims from Germany which stated Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Mathys Tel’s representatives over a potential transfer in the winter market.

The striker is unhappy with the lack of regular minutes at Bayern Munich and is looking to join a club where he can play regularly.

Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the latest on the current stances of Tottenham and Bayern.

Bayern CEO Max Eberl has confirmed the 19-year-old wants to leave before this window closes on Monday. The official also stated there are approaches from multiple clubs without revealing their details.

“We spoke in December, and Mathys said he wanted to establish himself. Now he says he wants to leave (…) There’s no bad blood. I can understand him. I’ve rarely had so many clubs call me about a player before,” he said, relayed by Plettenberg.

He states Tottenham and three other Premier League sides are ‘specifically interested’ in Tel. The journalist adds these clubs have gathered the information needed to sign the France U21 international and have even contacted the Bundesliga side.
As well as Spurs, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are mentioned. In addition to these four teams, unnamed clubs from Germany, France and other leagues are keen on Tel.
Plettenberg adds Bayern are open to a loan move or a permanent transfer.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have to convince Tel to pick them over other clubs to secure his services.
