Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has admitted a move to Liverpool ‘would be great’ if it were available in the summer.
The defender has been speaking to Ziggo Sport in the Netherlands, relayed by Soccer News, as Leverkusen power towards the Bundesliga title.
Frimpong has been a key part of that, establishing himself as one of the stars under manager Xabi Alonso and managing nine goals and ten assists in 28 games in all competitions this season.
He’s continued his fine form from last season when he managed nine goals and 11 assists in 48 games in all competitions, impressive numbers for a player who plays predominantly as a right-back.
It means he again finds himself heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.
This time he’s been asked about Liverpool, a place where he could link up with Xabi Alonso again, with the Spaniard the current favourite to replace Jurgen Klopp in the summer.
“Liverpool? Great club, with history. That would be great. Who knows what the future will bring,” he said when asked about a potential switch to Anfield.
