Fulham ‘have taken an interest’ in Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos and manager José Luis Mendilibar ‘fears’ he could leave before the end of the window.
That’s according to AS, who say Sevilla director of football Victor Orta is ‘prepared to act’ if Marco Silva’s side move before the transfer window closes.
The newspaper explains that while Ocampos is ‘reluctant to leave’ at this moment in time there is no denying that the market is moving around him.
Sevilla are expecting the final days of the window to be ‘stormy and full of news’ and know that Ocampos is one of the players in their squad who is ‘highly desired’.
There have been ‘movements’ in the Premier League and Fulham ‘have taken an interest’ in the Argentine winger as they look to bolster their squad.
A departure is ‘not completely ruled out’, even if the player is reluctant and they would prefer not to lose him at this point in the summer.
Losing him would be a blow to their plans but Victor Orta has planned ahead, and he has assured that he is ‘prepared to act’ in case Fulham move between now and Friday.
Whether they do so remains to be seen but there is certainly a belief in Spain, at Sevilla specifically, that their interest is genuine and they could try to lure the Argentine to Craven Cottage.
