Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira has revealed he was “looking forward” to joining Marseille in the summer and is keeping the door open to the French side.

Premier League Brasil have an interview with the 28-year-old Fulham midfielder today, in which he reveals Nottingham Forest were also interested in him.

Pereira has been with Fulham since a €9.5m move from Manchester United in July 2022 after spending a decade at Old Trafford, working his way up the youth ranks and enjoying loans spells with Valencia, Lazio and Flamengo.

He’s been a key player for Fulham since arriving but now finds himself in the last 18 months of his deal, which expires in June 2026.

Fulham have an option to extend that by a year but are yet to do so, despite rejecting offers for their man throughout the summer.

Various reports throughout the summer had Premier League sides making bids for the midfielder, including Nottingham Forest, with Pereira even admitting at the time that he’d speak to his agent about a transfer.

He’s now detailed what went on and who was making offers for him, admitting that it was Marseille which really caught his attention.

“From outside (England), there was (an offer) from Marseille, we talked, and unfortunately it didn’t work out,” he said.

“In the last days (of the transfer window) there was also (an offer) Nottingham Forest. Those were the clubs that came closest to signing me, but there was a lot of interest.

“Since I was on vacation, I was in more contact with him (his agent, Bertolucci). But he always lets me know, he tells me: ‘Look, there are clubs interested, let’s see what happens’.

“It would be really cool (to go to Marseille), because of the way De Zerbi plays football. I was looking forward to it, but we’ll see now in January or at the end of the season if there will be a transfer or if I’ll stay at Fulham.”
