Told last week there was ‘no chance’ of Jean-Michael Seri being a Fulham player next season, we did our best to bring you the latest on Jean-Michael Seri.
Sport Witness were informed Crystal Palace were still hovering around the midfielder, while clubs such as Napoli and Galatasaray had presented offers, but just for loans.
It was clear work was being done behind the scenes at Fulham and on Seri’s side to try and find him a landing spot, and that continues to be the case.
In fact, his agent had a chat with Teleradiostereo in Italy, where he explained he had held talks with AS Roma in Serie A about his client.
He said, relayed by Calciomercato.it: “Myself and my Italian partner spoke to Roma a couple of weeks ago. We’re seeing how the situation will evolve. Seri would be happy to play in Italy. Roma are a great club.”
Considering the Italian side are currently on the lookout for a new midfielder, currently trying to Fiorentina’s Jordan Veretout, this could be a match made in heaven.
However, a lot could depend on how much Fulham ask for, as Roma’s coffers aren’t as plentiful as others around them these days.
It’s nothing overly concrete, but if Roma lose out to on Veretout, who is also of interest to Milan and Napoli, then Seri might become a more attractive prospect in the next few weeks.
