The Friedkin Group could turn to Fabio Paratici as their first managerial appointment at Everton once their takeover is completed.
That’s according to La Repubblica, relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, who say Paratici may be in line for a job at Goodison Park and a return to England after his spell with Tottenham.
The newspaper explains that the Friedkins are currently in London dealing with the situation at Roma, where they are expected to appoint Claudio Ranieri as their new manager.
The group have their headquarters in the city, and it has become the centre of their operation when it comes to the Italian side. Dan and Ryan Friedkin are listening to advice from a multitude of sources on various matters and one of those is Paratici.
He is a ‘much listened to voice’, with the former Tottenham director of football acting as an ‘external consultant’ at this moment in time.
He is only allowed ‘reduced duties’ for now as he’s still serving a 30-month ban imposed on him by the FIGC and FIFA, something which brought an end to his time at Tottenham in April 2023.
He’s been without an official role since then but has can work in a limited capacity until the ban ends in June 2025.
That’s seemingly seen him link up with the Friedkins, who have been taking advice from the former Tottenham man on how to deal with the growing crisis at Roma.
And according to Repubblica, there are those who ‘already see him as the first management addition to Everton’ when the group’s takeover is completed.
What role he would be given at Everton isn’t clear, although the likely one is director of football. Kevin Thelwell is in the role at present, but his contract expires at the end of the season and there are some who believe Paratici may be in line to replace him when it does.
