Swansea City continue to have Toulouse FC’s Frank Magri on their radar for the summer.

Žan Vipotnik has been leading the Championship side’s attack this season.

The Slovenian striker has starred, scoring 24 goals and contributing three assists from 47 matches.

His future remains uncertain and earlier this week, Vítor Matos admitted Vipotnik could leave after this season.

He said: “Now, obviously, we operate within a reality where selling players is always an important factor. You always have to be prepared for the possibility that offers may arise which the club deems worth accepting.”

Swansea City maintain interest

Faced with this possibility, Swansea City have already decided to act and set their sights on the Toulouse player.

That’s according to Africa Foot, who cover the latest on the Welsh club’s efforts to try and sign him.

Frank Magri was already on their agenda in the winter market, and the Swans had even made an approach. The club even tried to sign by offering €4m last summer. It’s unclear why the deal didn’t go through, but they continue to retain their interest.

Swansea City identify the France-born Cameroon international as a potential successor for Žan Vipotnik.

The Ligue 1 striker’s contract expires in June and wants to start a new phase of his career next season. This is a market opportunity for Vítor Matos’ side, who have already ‘expressed interest’ in him.

As well as the Championship side, Angers SCO are also keen on the frontman. Therefore, Swansea City have to battle with the Ligue 1 side to acquire his signature.

The report makes no mention whether the Welsh club will still sign Magri if Vipotnik were to stay.

Value, stats and agent info

Frank Magri has scored five goals and contributed one assist from 17 Ligue 1 matches this season.

He hasn’t made an appearance since January as a knee injury forced him to spend 72 days on the sidelines. The frontman seems to have recovered from the setback but was left out of the squad last two league matches.

Transfermarkt value him at €4m, and agency Team Reag Consulting are managing the Swansea City target.
