Wolverhampton Wanderers are in ongoing talks with Standard Liege over a deal for Hayao Kawabe to move to Belgium this summer.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says negotiations between the two clubs are ‘advanced’ over a €1.5m deal including bonuses.
Kawabe has been at Wolves since joining for around €600k from Grasshoppers but has never made a senior appearance for the club and spent the second half of last season back on loan with the Swiss club, re-joining them 15 days after leaving.
It appears he will never change that fact, with Tavolieri reporting that Wolves and Standard are in advanced talks over a deal.
According to his information they are working to close a deal worth €1.5m plus bonuses, and all the parties involved are ‘confident’ of it being finalised sooner rather than later.
He also adds that Kawabe is ‘keen on the move’ and will sign a three-year contract at his new club once negotiations with Wolves are finalised.
