Everton have set their sights on former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo for the summer window, according to a report from Italy.
Last season, Juventus allowed the Brazilian to join Liverpool on a loan deal. He struggled with injuries during his time at Anfield and was restricted to only one appearance.
That hasn’t put off Everton if a report from Tutto Juve is to be believed.
Last summer, the Serie A side allowed the 27-year-old go out on loan to Fiorentina, and he has excelled under Vincenzo Italiano’s orders. The Brazilian has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season, managing two assists in the process.
His performances for Fiorentina, which has genuinely been consistently good, seem to have drawn the attention of Sean Dyche’s side.
The Italian club have an option to make Arthur’s stay permanent, but his agent Federico Pastorello has stated that they won’t be exercising it due to finances.
This means the South American will have to return to the Turin club, and Tutto Juve state they are looking to offload him permanently in the summer.
It’s said Juve will look for a club in the Premier League, where Everton ‘like him’. The Old Lady’s aim is to collect €20m for Arthur, but it’s not mentioned if the Toffees are willing to pay that fee for the Liverpool flop.
