West Ham United are set to face competition from Everton in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Carlos Soler, according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Ligue 1 winners want to sell the 27-year-old and won’t let him leave on a loan deal. Over the past two weeks, West Ham have been pushed forward as the main contender.

West Ham have to be wary about Everton, who have entered the chase for the midfielder.

Plettenberg claims this is his own information. He states Everton’s ‘interest is concrete’ as Soler has been on their list for a long time. The Toffees have already made contact with PSG for the Spaniard.

The Sky journalist adds Julen Lopetegui’s side are ‘still there’ and planning further steps to secure his services. The Hammers will fight until the end to try and sign Soler.

French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin also states Sean Dyche’s side are ‘very interested’ in signing Soler.

Everton joining West Ham in the battle should please PSG. Collet-Gaudin claims the Paris club want at least €24m for the former Valencia man.

On Thursday, L’Equipe reported Soler has agreed to join West Ham. There’s the chance Everton are being used here to nudge the Hammers over the line, with €24m perhaps out of their reach right now.
