Everton have been linked with a move Feyenoord’s David Hancko in the past few weeks and more about that now comes from Italy.

Tuttomercatoweb’s Marco Conterio has reported about the centre-back today and he states that even though Juventus have a draft agreement over personal terms with Hancko, they are finding difficulty striking an agreement with Feyenoord due to high competition and the Dutch club’s asking price.

Everton are interested in the 27-year-old and they want to build a defence around him and will provide stiff competition to the Bianconeri.

Signing the Slovakian will be far from easy for the Toffees too, as Bayer Leverkusen are also a potential suitor.

The biggest challenge comes from Atletico Madrid, who have been described as ‘fearsome’ competitors. Juventus will look to insert Facundo Gonzalez in the move but even with that, the chase for Hancko will not be easy.

The indication is that Everton – like Leverkusen, would be interested in a straight cash deal, with Feyenoord demanding a fee of €40m right now.

So far this season, Hancko has played at left centre-back but has also been deployed at left-back. He has shown an ability to play not just in a back four but in a back three as well.

TMW say Everton ‘would like to build the future of their defence’ with him central to it.
