Everton have ‘clearly expressed their interest’ in Juventus defender Merih Demiral this summer as he looks set to depart the Italian club.
That’s according to journalist Nicolo Ceccarini, who says the Serie A giants will not let the Turkey star go for less than €30m.
Demiral has been named as one of the players Juventus are keen to get rid of this summer, believing they can make a healthy profit on a player they are not counting on.
Everton have been named among his suitors for some time, with it believed they are keen to find a new centre back this summer.
Ceccarini backs that up and says they have ‘clearly expressed their interest’ in the defender this summer.
He says Demiral is ‘still on the way out’, and the Bianconeri have made it clear he will not be going for anything less than €30m.
Whether Everton are willing to pay that isn’t mentioned, but it seems unlikely given it’s been made clear their funds are limited this year.
That could change if they were to sell a player, such as Yerry Mina, who has been named as a player the Blues would let go in England, but at the minute, that hasn’t happened.
If it does, the race for Demiral could pick up pace, but at this point, it seems all Everton have done is made it clear to their Italian counterparts that they like him.
