West Ham United are ‘keeping an eye on’ Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone, who is looking likely to leave the Italian side this summer.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say there are a long line of suitors ready to compete with West Ham for the Argentine.

They report that Simeone is currently ‘waiting to the market’ to open for him, having returned to pre-season in the ‘best physical condition’ after his summer holidays.

He took advantage of his weeks off to get in good shape, so much so he surprised Cagliari’s staff when he returned.

The striker is aware that the doors to the market could open ‘in the next few days’ and is ready to make a move should it be available.

He has a ‘good feeling’ about a potential move to Marseille, who are currently in ‘pole position’ to secure his signature.

There have been ‘advanced conversations’ between themselves and the Italian side over a move, and there is confidence it will happen, although it is not yet closed.

The French are not the only ones interested, though, with Celta Vigo and West Ham also ‘keeping an eye’ on the striker, as well as Villarreal, who have been given the details regarding his situation.

In the meantime, the Argentine is ‘training hard’ at Cagliari to keep fit, waiting for the moves to present themselves.
